The Queen's Diary #9

          I’ve never thought I’d say this but I think I’ve found my new favorite food, it’s strange because I originally wasn’t planning to eat anything in fear of not being able to keep it down but the only thing that doesn’t bother me are the Star truffles. They’re delicious and come in all kinds of flavors of chocolate. I’ve become fond of the milk chocolate truffles with a sprinkle of pecans on top. I know I should not eat so many but I love them so much! I really hope I can have a few more before bed tonight. Oh, how I love something melts in your mouth and exploding with sweetness.

            The royal confectionists have told me that they make Star truffles only but once a year for the Star festival. I am a little disappointed that I cannot have them year round but I guess that would cause their purpose to be null. It will be wonderful if I can have a few boxes of the star truffles to tie me over until next year. Maybe they will make some for me if I ask…oh dear I must sound like such a glutton! I will have to figure out a way to get a few boxes then if I cannot ask for them.

            So the weeks leading up to the Star Festival are pretty interesting, I’ve seen a few people in the fields tending to their crops and I think it’s wonderful that everyone’s planning to bring in their harvest when the festival rolls around. I have seen some wonderful items in the new dress shop in town. A dress looks like the one I wore on my wedding day was on display in the window. It is lovely and I am rather flattered that people would want to have something that I’ve worn. I do feel bad that I did not design the dress. I guess royalty does have to have some traditional clothing.

            There is a bit of good news in terms of the royal life, Orpheus and I have become Prince and Princess once again. My mother in law Helena has chosen to take up the title as Queen again and we are allowed to do as we want. While we do still have royal duties of a King and Queen, we do have a lot more freedom than we had before. We are able to travel and leave the palace for days on end and the guards have decided to humor Orpheus by chasing him as they had done before he chose to be King. It wonderful that his side as Apollo has returned, kind of thrilling considering he is much more carefree and happy go lucky.

            Therefore, our home near Mermaid’s lake in Chronophontia is going to be used more, and we will get to see every one of our friends! I am so excited to see them and well we do live pretty close to all of the mermaids and I do love that we’ve had a visit from a bunny…she had really lovely hair that reminds one of cotton candy. She does seem to be a lot more playful than most of the bunnies I’ve seen…well actually she’s part human too…I think she’s called a bunny girl. I think I’ll leave out some carrot cake for her the next time she decides to visit.

            In terms of letting Orpheus know about our dear sunflower…well err let’s just say I think I should’ve waited until we weren’t so close to the edge of the docks…he fell in the water and well I am glad that Maryna saved him before he drowned. He is a little excited but the shock of it all is expected. Considering the only time we have really been together was during our little vacation in August. The poor dear is flustered and I know he will calm down after the news sinks in.

            Thank you to everyone for congratulating us, I feel so happy all of you care so much about us! I know that if I need anything I can count on my wonderful extended family in Chronophontia. I think I’ll ask Miss Shirley if  she’s all right with being my doctor…I heard a lot about her from Aisha, so I think I’ll start seeing her rather than the doctors in the palace. She may be gentler than they are and not place so many restrictions on me.

            Oh! I have some more good news; the disaster that happened in Northern Onen has been solved. With the help of Central Onen (the main kingdom), we have helped the families rebuild their lives and the shop owners have opened up improved shops. The whole town has been thriving ever since Orpheus has ordered that everyone work together as a community to ensure that everyone and everything is brought back to its original beauty and luster.

             I do know that a royal guardsman is there to ensure that everyone’s happy and everything is peaceful. This is going to be so wonderful! I really feel so happy that Northern Onen is going to thrive again. I think I might help with the design of the school and the gardens, so that way the children can have a beautiful place to learn and play.

            I must be going now; the royal chefs are calling for me to let them know what I think of the starlight buns they’re preparing. I do hope they are tasty like the Star Truffles but I doubt anything can have the same taste.
